Vintagexplorer

Picking up the post in the morning is such a mundane task, and usually consists of bills, bills, bills oh and a few bank statements; so exciting...not! Well this morning it all changed, there lying on the mat, was my copy of Vintagexplorer magazine. Such a surprise because I had only ordered it two nights ago from their eBay store and it gave a weeks expected delivery. They got an instant 5 star feedback!
So the basics, it's bi-monthly and has features on fashion, interiors, technology, events and places you must visit. All in all a great selection of information, which I have read cover to cover and loved. The layout makes it easy to ready and there is a good flow from story to story. Although it's a great read, it has had the same result that Vogue and Glamour have, in that it has made me want to shop. I think I need to be hypnotized. My shopping ban does not include magazines, so I will definitely be heading to the website to purchase the back issues :)

Affordable Vintage...

I adore vintage markets, so when my mum told me about Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair, I was already there in my mind rummaging through the rails.

Taken from www.facebook.com/TheAffordableVintageFair

Saturday 2nd February we went along to Spitalfields Market in London for a mother daughter vintage day out.
It was slightly different to other fairs I have been to before, however there were lots of different stalls selling vintage items, as well as vintage inspired products. There were also food stalls offering you tasters of their produce, not great for the diet, I did discover Ubiquitea a Chinese tea specialist. I purchased some jasmine tea leaves which can be infused over and over again. So pretty and delish!

Vintage in Print was the best stall in my opinion. Friendly and helpful was the lady running it and the actual prints were absolutely amazing. I could have bought all of them, luckily i can continue looking at home as they are online. vintageinprint They have vintage adverts from the likes of Chanel and Dior cosmetics, also Vintage Vogue covers which are all mounted. My favourite were the photographic prints, they each had information about the photographer, garment and year. Reasonable prices too, £18 for some of the prints, which I personally feel is steal for such beautiful pieces.

Although I didn't buy any clothing, as I have put myself on a spending ban, only buying when I need something (which is always) it was great to chat to some of the dealers and also i was informed about other vintage fairs. I also got some fabulous ideas for some vintage inspired projects I can create at home :)

So if you're interested in anything vintage or just fancy a wander, I would recommend going to the next market. Spitalfields is the home of many interesting markets oldspitalfieldsmarket will give you all the info you need.
The next Judy's vintage fair in London is on the 23rd February however it's a little different as its a kilo sale. £15 per kilo of clothing, super cheap and exciting rooting around for treasures.

Loving Life...

It has been far too long, but I'm back, and this time I'm here to stay.

Since the last time I was here I have become totally obsessed with vintage fashion and beauty, dip-dyed my hair, gone up and down a dress size or two, purchased my first vintage fur coat, discovered a love for jasmine tea, oh yes and I finally graduated university and worked on a Greek island for the past two summers trying to 'find myself'... Such fun!

2012 was such a hectic year, especially worrying that the world was going to end; yes I was one of the sad ones that was shaking in my peep toe platforms that I hadn't yet seen and done everything I had planned. We are still here though, thank The Lord.

Over Christmas I stupidly told my family that One Directions song 'live while we're young' had really made me reevaluate my life, as you can imagine they now see me as even more insane, as you probably do too. As much as I would love to do all the things in their music video, I meant that we only do get one go at this crazy little thing called life and I now plan to do whatever the hell I want (nothing illegal obvs =]).

So until my next post

Kiss and Tell

My obsession with YSL's Rouge Pur Couture lipstick is increasing by the day, so I have now been wondering if I can still have dramatic eyes as well as lips. The advert for the lipstick shows the model with both dramatic eyes and lips, but is this too much for me, more to the point can I pull it off.
With all these highly important questions flying around in my head, I decided to search the web to find some new make-up ideas. I came across this image, which I love, so I thought I would share it. =]

The Lipstick For Heroines

I have always wanted to wear red lipstick, however with my ginger hair and fair skin, I never knew which colour would suit me best. There is always also that worry of wasting my money as well as having ridiculous looking lips. So i forgot about about the idea, stuck with my nudes and pink tones and that was that.
Then last week, whilst purchasing my face cream and foundation, the lovely sales woman at the Yves Saint Laurent counter suggested I try their new red lipstick. Since then I have never looked back. I love it, in fact when I am not wearing it, for instance when I'm at the gym, I feel naked, it's like my make-up is not complete without my Rouge Pur Couture. My new make-up bag must have!

Please Mind The Gap

The scrapped Gap logo
[image: abcnews.com]                      [image: gap.com]
After trying to reinvent their logo, Gap have scrapped it just one week after unveiling it. This was all down to the many critics tearing the reinvention apart on forums and social networking sites.
Personally I do not see what's wrong with the original logo of 20 years, it is an iconic logo known throughout the world, the failed attempt looked more like a logo for a marketing company rather than an American fashion brand.
Leave it be Gap!

Your Amazing, Just The Way You Are

Bruno Mars song lyrics have the ability to turn my frown upside down, and make me think that I would like to find my very own Bruno Mars, who likes me just the way I am =]
The majority of women, insecure or not, have the fantasy that they will one day find someone who will not care that they have cellulite, a bad complexion or not so pearly whites. So tell me has anyone found them yet, or do they actually exist, as i'm losing faith.
